TeloTest™ is a simple yet insightful genetic test that measures the length of telomeres in order to quantify the degree of cellular aging of the individual at the time of sampling.

The telomeres shorten in every cell-division cycle and the decreasing of its length is directly associated with aging. In cases of early aging, telomeric length is often detected as shorter than expected, providing information about the degree of cellular aging of the body. Telomeric length is one of the most relevant biomarkers related with body aging. Being able to maintain longer telomeres is related with increased lifespan and retarding the development of age-related diseases.

Understanding your cell biological age allows professionals to clearly approach the right treatments.

Fagron TeloTest is intended to assist health professionals in making specific care decisions regarding the prevention of aging, especially in high yield diagnostic settings, such as suspected cases of short telomere syndromes.

Fagron TeloTest uses an automatized qualitative algorithm that calculates telomere length, infer biological age based on telomere length, interpret result and relevant patient’s anamnesis to recommend the most appropriate formulas and advice to delay the effect of ageing in adult male and female population.

The Fagron TeloTest™ results are shared only with the prescriber through the Fagron Genomics login platform. The report can be used to select the most suitable treatment option for the patient, fully personalized to their needs. The report includes:
  • A summary of patient characteristics
  • Full genetic analysis and explanation
  • Suggested personalized formulations

A telomere is a region of repetitive DNA sequences at the end of a chromosome.

Telomeres protect the ends of chromosomes from becoming frayed or tangled. Each time a cell divides, the telomeres become slightly shorter. Eventually, they become so short that the cell can no longer divide successfully, and the cell dies.

The study showed that patients in the study population with a combination of two specific genes had more than 80% chance of serious complications from filler treatments. Medical complications that can occur include chronic and/or localized inflammation that may require months or years of medical treatment and can cause lifelong symptoms.

What does TeloTest analyse?

Patient’s genetic factors

Analyses quantitative data associated with the length of telomeres that tend to shorten with age.

Patient’s medical history

Biochemical parameters, pathologies, intolerances, medications, physical activity and habits are also considered for safe and complete counselling.

DNA MEASURING TELOMERES TEST - FAGRON GENOMICS - RESULTS

HOW IT WORKS

Do not eat, drink, use mouth fresheners, smoke, or chew gum for at least 30 minutes before the test.

The test is carried out by a doctor in a associated clinic. You can buy the test in the clinic or online in this online store.

A doctor will take a swab from the inside of your mouth to obtain a sample of your DNA. You will also be asked to complete a simple questionnaire to determine a number of lifestyle factors including age, height, weight and any medical conditions you may have.

This will be sent to Fagron laboratory where our specially trained technicians will analyze a total of 48 genetic variations from your DNA sample.

Detecting DNA variations, known as SNPs, facilitates our understanding of the specific characteristics of your metabolism.

All SNPs tested by Fagron have been scientifically validated by global research.

Within 14 days your advisor will receive a report containing the results of your test. This will indicate which elements from your genetic coding and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to
